Textbooks: We will draw on several texts and many papers, all on reserve at the SIO library. The SIO Aquarium bookstore has a supply of the following three books which are useful for the descriptive large-scale oceanography part of the course. They are also on reserve.

SIO Aquarium visit (lecture and tour) in November following the November 7 lecture to discuss methods for measuring physical oceanographic quantities. Meet in the courtyard outside the Education entrance. Tickets will be given out in class prior to the aquarium visit.

R/V Sproul cruise. November 13. Field trip for the biological oceanography class, (Lisa Levin and David Checkley - professors). SIO 210 students are invited to participate.

*Final Exam: moved from Saturday, Dec. 14 to Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 1-4 in NH 101. An extra time is scheduled on Friday, Dec. 13 9-12 for students who have conflicts on Wednesday.
